Not once, but two different times David faced the great dilemma of whether or not to take matters into his own hands. Twice, he had the opportunity to remove Saul from the throne and open the way for his own kingship. Yet both times he passes on the chance. Not out of a great love for Saul but out of his great love for God and God’s anointed one. David held the calling of being anointed by God in great esteem and this drove his life. But what does this look like for us today? Can we learn anything from David’s history with Saul to help in our journeys with those in leadership today?
