Remember as a kid how your imagination would run wild? Monsters under the bed… Gnomes sneaking around the yard at night… Invisible friends…
What little kids doesn’t love unicorns? They don’t exist but we love to draw them. Or what about Pegasus? We love horses… one that could fly would be even better! Today as we turn to Daniel 7, we encounter a whole pile of imaginary creatures. Yet rather than being the product of an overactive imagination, they are symbolic of events throughout history. They look kind of weird; but then again, isn’t history?
While things may look unique and different in Daniel’s dream, they nevertheless remind us both of God’s control over all time as well as God’s perspective on history.
