Giving It Up

The Lenten season is here.  Six weeks set aside each year to prepare our hearts for Easter.  Traditionally, we are called to “give something up” for Lent.  These simple sacrifices help to focus our minds on the ultimate sacrifice by Jesus for us.  As we give up sweets or meat or even Facebook, we reflect on Jesus’ gift.  But our sacrifices are small and temporary.  Yet our salvation and Christ’s resurrection are eternal.  This Lenten season, join us as we explore the eternal impacts of the cross.  What things, in light of Jesus’ death and resurrection, are we called to “give up” eternally?
