We know what we know…or at least we think we know what we know. Yet sometimes, when we take a step back and reevaluate the facts, we might be surprised by what we find. This is exactly what Lee Strobel did in his book The Case for Christ. Strobel found himself exploring the possibility of who Jesus really is and ended up walking away with a very different conclusion than the one he started with.
As Christians, we too can be encouraged in our faith by taking a step back and reviewing why we believe what we believe. Historical facts and archaeological data may never be the foundation of our faith, but they can go a long way in supporting what we believe. This week, we’ll be looking at the facts and history surrounding the four gospels or biographies about Jesus. Who wrote them? Have they been changed? How do we know we have what was actually written almost 2000 years ago?
