When we talk about the “call of God,” we tend to think big picture and big calls. God calls pastors, missionaries, and evangelists. But what if the call of God was actually bigger than that? What if God was calling not just a select few to a few select roles but instead calling all of us to our own unique walk with Him? As we look at the story of Abraham, we meet a man who has one of those “big” calls of God but we also meet a man just like us —- a man who messes up as much as he succeeds, a man who is simply trying to follow God day-by-day the best he can. And in looking at Abraham’s call and journey, we see more clearly the call of God in each of our lives as well.
