It’s fall!
Oh wait, now it’s summer again…
And now fall again…
Here’s a bit of winter for you…
And back to fall…
The past week or so has been a roller coaster of weather patterns! We just can’t seem to find a season and stay there. Personally, fall is one of my favorite seasons and so I’m pretty eager for it to arrive and stay. I love the crisp mornings and the colors that come with the approaching winter. I love sitting by a campfire and drinking some warm apple cider. This is such a great season…if it would just come and stay.
I wonder, though, if God doesn’t feel the same way about us at times. We closed yesterday’s service with the song “Walk by Faith” in which the main lyric is repeated multiple times— “I will walk by faith!”
But do we stick with it? We all know it’s easy to walk by faith at certain times in our lives. Yet at other times, faith is the hardest thing by which to walk. We find ourselves at times flip-flopping between faith and sight. Faith and friends. Faith and the world.
Do you think God ever just looks down at us and says “I love when you walk by faith…it’s My favorite ‘season’ of your life.” I wonder if He’s just waiting for us to get there. To understand that we don’t have to have it all figured out. That faith, while hard at times, is always the best course.
David learned that over and over again as he ran from King Saul. I pray we also learn that lesson—that no matter what life throws at us, we can walk by faith and trust in God to make a way!
Have a great week walking by faith!
In Christ Alone,
Pastor Jan
