It’s hard to believe that two weeks from today Christmas will be over! Now before you think me a scrooge for even thinking about Christmas being over, let me assure you I am not rushing at all! I have been thoroughly enjoying our discovery of the marvels of Christmas and can’t wait to see you all at our Stories and Carols week this Sunday as well as the Christmas Eve Candlelight Service at 7pm. That being said, January is another big month here at HBIC and I wanted to let you all know of some important dates coming up early next year so they don’t sneak up on you…and I’ll use Christmas colors so as to not seem so scrooge-like…
- Saturday, January 7th will be an all-church work day…don’t worry it will be inside work 🙂 I would encourage everyone to try to attend and give our amazing trustees some help making our building look great for a new year!
- Sunday, January 15th I will be teaching a Membership Class during the 9 o’clock Sunday School hour. This will be a one week class for anyone interested in partnering with HBIC and making us their church home and family.
- Sunday, January 22nd will be a Baptism Sunday. If you are interested in being baptized and publicly confessing your faith in our Lord Jesus Christ, please contact me (pastorjan@hbicchurch.com).
- Sunday, January 29th will be our annual Congregational Meeting immediately following the worship service. Please plan on staying a few extra minutes after church as we look ahead to 2017 and discuss some of the exciting things we hope to accomplish this coming year as a body of believers.
There now, I’m done discussing January and you can return to your regularly scheduled Christmas celebrations! Please have a wonderful week as we quickly approach this marvelous day and remember to keep your eyes and heart set on Christ this Christmas!
In Christ Alone,
Pastor Jan
