Weekly Update 2.6.17

A huge shout out and thank you to everyone who came out Saturday morning to help with the first Upward Evaluation Day for this season.  Not only was there plenty of help to make the workload light, but there was also a great sense of fellowship as we all were able to spend the morning together literally and figuratively opening doors as families came into our building!  I can’t wait to see what God is going to do this season as we rally together to reach our community!

You might have also noticed yesterday that we are in the process of installing a new coffee station in the lobby which will be followed by a new welcome center as well.  While they look nice (and that’s even without countertops…I can’t wait to see the finished project!), they represent another small way we are trying to open doors.  When a visitor walks into our church, we want them to feel welcomed both by what they see (who doesn’t love coffee and donuts) and by how we interact with them.  Let’s all step out of our comfort zones and be the welcoming church we say we are even more so!

And don’t forget to invite someone to church this week.  It’s a simple door to open.  “I’d love if you would join me at church this week, here’s a card with the address and service times” is about all you have to say.

If you can’t tell, I’m excited to see us moving forward and outward, to see us reaching our community and the lost more and more.  It’s what we’re called to do and I’m so excited to do it with you.  As we read yesterday in 1 Corinthians 3:9, we are God’s co-workers!  Let’s get to work!

In Christ Alone,

Pastor Jan
